4. Can you convert PAL<-->NTSC<-->SECAM?
Yes. We can convert PAL and SECAM tapes directly to a DVD or a NTSC VHS tape. (Extra charge for the format conversion.)
5. Is the DVD you create going to play in my DVD Player?
The real question is if your player can handle DVD-R format. The type of DVD we create is called DVD-R format. Currently 89% of the DVD players in the market can play DVD-R disks. If you bought your DVD player in the 2002, we are almost sure that your DVD player will be able to play DVD-R disks. Please check your DVD player manuals to make sure that it can play DVD-R format disks. You can also check our DVD Player Compatibility list. Please make sure that your player can play DVD-R disks before you place the order.
6. Does the length of the video effect quality?
Yes, You can record any where from 1 Hour to 6 hour mode with quality ranging from the highest to average respectively. In 1 Hour mode, video is recorded with highest bit rate. This would be an over kill except for converting MiniDV tapes to DVD. In this mode, we can record your MiniDV tapes to DVD with firewire connection and thus ensure highest quality. 2 Hour mode is suitable for the most and gives you the best video quality. Most of the movies are recorded in this mode. 4 Hour mode & 6 Hour mode is suitable where highest quality is not necessary.
Flexible recording: We can record your DVD in flexible length encoding format. This will ensure that your video will be created with the highest quality video (highest bit rate) that the DVD disk can hold for the length of the video you specified. For example, if your video length is 2.5 hours, then we convert with the best bit rate that would fill the entire DVD disk. This will result in highest quality of video.
7. What is the maximum length of video can I fit on a single DVD disk?
We can record up to a maximum of 6 hours of video on a single DVD-R disk. But obviously the video quality will be sacrificed. Quality of a 6 Hr DVD video would be equavalent of VHS video that is recorded in LP mode. It may be acceptable for recording your favorite TV shows, but not good enough for archiving your memories. We suggest about 2 to 3 hours of video per DVD.
8. Can I create a single DVD with video from multiple tapes?
Yes. There will be a small fee for each additional tape. Please clearly specify the order in which we should record them. Video from each tape will be recorded as a separate scene.
9. What kinds of video can you convert to DVD?
We will not convert any copy righted material. If your video tape contains copy right notice we will not convert it with out a written consent from the copy right owner. If you have such a tape, please procure the necessary approval from the copy right owner and send it along with your tapes. Also, we will not convert any video that appears to be illeagal in nature.
10. Do you create chapters?
Yes, Your DVD will be created with chapter marks at approximately every 5 min. Using these chapters you will be able to jump quickly through your video instead of fast forward and rewinding.
11. How long does it take to get back my DVD?
Our current turn around time is about one week. We try our best to maintain that.
12. Does your price include return shipping and handling?
