Fredrick

Got Water?

You haven't lived until you've witnessed Freddy Schenck in the water. We thought it was a seizure the first time, but he was just blissed out slapping, galumphing, and bobbing like a dolphin. This water clown will surface-dive, swim completely submerged, and even roll onto his side like a seal. Eye witnesses have reported that he has just missed catching bream in his teeth.

Possible Landseer/Border Collie/Springer Spaniel mix, friendly Fred is neutered, up-to-date on shots, heartworm negative, and housetrained. The Fredster weighs 77 lbs and sports a beautiful, shiny white, black, and gray dappled coat. We think that he is two-to-three years old.

Fred LOVES people and will sit on any stranger's foot and then swoon to the floor for a tummy rub. Although he extremely people- and animal-friendly, Freddy is just now learning what it means to share. As with many strays who have had to fend for themselves, Fred tends to guard his possessions and does not take well to being physically forced. He responds best to verbal commands. We are working with him on this.

SPECIAL NEEDS: Fred has moderate hip dysplasia. It has not slowed him down one iota, but someday it will. He is currently taking glucosamine and appears to be completely unaware of his handicap. Although there is a chance that he may never need surgery, we can't guarantee it. His adoption fee is waived for any home committed to giving Fred the long, happy, and healthy life he deserves.

We would like to find Frederick a home where he is welcome indoors but has access to a fenced-in yard. Because he is happiest in water, we hope that he will have regular water privileges as well. To apply for this funny, affectionate boy, email ssnow12787@aol.com or call 666-8995.
